Rachel Shanley has been an educator in Revere for 20 years, and has had the pleasure of teaching at three of the elementary schools. For the past two years, Ms. Shanley has been an Assistant Principal at the AC Whelan and is honored to be the new Principal of the AC Whelan. She is proud of the meaningful relationships with colleagues, students and families built over the years. Ms. Shanley’s Core Values are: Courage, Connections and Collaboration. Her goals are to lead with courage, make connections and collaborate with students, families and colleagues. Ms. Shanley is a proud mom to three sons that attend Rumney Marsh Academy, Revere High School and Stonehill College. In her free time, she enjoys reading, exercising and cooking.

Assistant Principals

Nicole Cascetta has been committed to Revere Public Schools for 27 years. She herself attended the A.C.Whelan Elementary School and then went on to Revere High School. Miss Cascetta’s daughter also attends the A.C.Whelan School where she has made positive relationships with peers and teachers. Miss Cascetta prides herself on her special education background. She has had the privilege to work in both the elementary school and middle school setting. She has established strong relationships with colleagues, students and families and looks forward to continuing to build these relationships. Miss Cascetta is excited to work together with staff in creating a welcoming environment where staff and students feel supported.

Danny Gallucci has been an educator in Revere Middle Schools for the past 11 years working both as a mathematics teacher and instructional mathematics coach. Mr. Gallucci  is proud to have been born and raised in Revere as both a resident and student at the Beachmont School and Revere High School. Following high school, Mr. Gallucci attended Salem State University where he received degrees in Mathematics, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, and Educational Leadership. Mr. Gallucci is eager and excited to create and sustain long lasting positive relationships with all A.C. Whelan community members as Assistant Principal.

Office Assistant

Ms. Hurley is our administrative assistant, here at the Whelan School. She works diligently on a daily basis to provide secretarial support to students, families, and school personnel, as well as communicate with the public, other schools, and districts, regarding Whelan School. She has been a familiar face in our school for over five years, working briefly as a paraprofessional, then as security and translator. Ms. Hurley is fluent in both English and Portuguese. As a long time Revere resident, she is happy to be part of the Whelan School and community.
