Rachel Shanley is beyond excited and proud to be your principal at the A.C. Whelan Elementary School. I have been an educator for over 20 years in Revere Public Schools. As a lifelong resident in Revere, I am deeply rooted and closely connected to our community. Throughout my career in Revere, I am most proud of the meaningful relationships I have built over the years with colleagues and families. Throughout my administration at the A.C. Whelan Elementary, I have been so impressed by the students, staff and families. My three core values are:  Courage, Connections and Collaboration. I look forward to leading with courage, connecting and collaborating with students, families and colleagues to encourage growth for all students. I will always keep students at the forefront of every decision I make. As a mom of three boys, I am very aware of the village it takes to raise children. We, at the Whelan, are truly a village. I look forward to building and strengthening partnerships with you all.

Assistant Principals

Nicole Cascetta has been committed to Revere Public Schools for 28 years. This is her second year as assistant principal at the Whelan School. She herself attended the A.C.Whelan Elementary School and then went on to Revere High School. Miss Cascetta’s daughter is a 5th grade student at the  A.C.Whelan School where she has made positive relationships with peers and teachers. Miss Cascetta prides herself on her special education background. She has had the privilege to work in both the elementary school and middle school setting. She has established strong relationships with colleagues, students and families and looks forward to continuing to build these relationships. Miss Cascetta is excited to work together with staff in creating a welcoming environment where staff and students feel supported.

Danny Gallucci has been an educator in Revere Middle Schools for the past 12 years working both as a mathematics teacher and instructional mathematics coach. Mr. Gallucci  is proud to have been born and raised in Revere as both a resident and student at the Beachmont School and Revere High School. Following high school, Mr. Gallucci attended Salem State University where he received degrees in Mathematics, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, and Educational Leadership. Mr. Gallucci is eager and excited to create and sustain long lasting positive relationships with all A.C. Whelan community members as Assistant Principal

Office Assistant

Ms. Hurley is our administrative assistant, here at the Whelan School. She works diligently on a daily basis to provide secretarial support to students, families, and school personnel, as well as communicate with the public, other schools, and districts, regarding Whelan School. She has been a familiar face in our school for over five years, working briefly as a paraprofessional, then as security and translator. Ms. Hurley is fluent in both English and Portuguese. As a long time Revere resident, she is happy to be part of the Whelan School and community.
